When do I need a building permit?
The Town requires building permits to ensure that public health, safety and welfare are protected in accordance with state codes. A building permit is needed for all structures and associated features. Inspectors look at structural components, foundations, mechanical systems, plumbing systems, electrical and fire (for commercial uses).

Permitted activities include things such as new construction, remodeling, decks, storage buildings, electrical meter boxes and even above ground swimming pools.

Always contact Planning and Inspections to determine if a permit is needed.
