The Town of Aberdeen, a growing community located adjacent to Pinehurst and Southern Pines, is seeking an experienced individual to join our team as the Town’s next Recreation Program Coordinator. Aberdeen and the surrounding Sandhills region of North Carolina offer an appealing quality of life that provides something for everyone.  This position will be responsible for the development and implementation of recreational classes and programs for all ages, including senior exercise, youth day camps, and special events to include the Malcolm Blue Farm Festival, Blue & Brews Festival, Fun Family 4th of July, Easter Eggstravaganza, and much more.  Regular work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and position will also require some evening, holiday and weekend work.  Requirements:  Graduation from an accredited college/university with degree in parks and recreation or a related field but will consider other education/experience related to job requirements.  Must possess a valid NC driver’s license.  Salary Range:  $30,000 - $35,000 depending on experience.  Excellent benefits package including 5% 401-k contribution, Local Governmental Employees Retirement System membership, paid medical, dental and life insurance, 12 paid holidays + paid birthday day off, vacation and sick leave, and annual longevity payment.
