ASSISTANT PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR

The Town of Aberdeen is currently seeking a qualified applicant to fill the position of Assistant Public Works Director.  This position will assist the Public Works Director in supervisory, administrative and professional engineering work activities for the Public Works Dept.  This position will perform engineering design work related to streets, water and sewer, storm drains, etc. and will work with consulting engineering firms regarding town projects including conducting research and preparing proposals.  This position will assist in preparing and reviewing the budget to ensure compliance with expenditures and will oversee personnel matters within the Public Works Dept.  Salary Range:  $55,000 - $60,000.

Interested applicants should possess the following requirements:

• B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering from accredited college/university

• Possession of license to practice as a registered P.E. in NC or engineering in training status  with ability to   acquire P.E. certification

• Ability to use PC-based CADD system

• Must possess a valid NC Driver’s License

• Must pass a Pre-employment Drug Screen

• Must pass a Background Investigation

• Must pass a Credit Check
